Wrong parking worsens situation

Commuters faced immense hardships due to massive traffic jam in city-centre during relaxation in shutdown on Sunday evening.
Hundreds of vehicles were stuck in gridlocks. The traffic jam was worsened by the wrong parking on roads.

Massive traffic jam was witnessed at Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, TRC, Regal Chowk, Jahangir Chowk and its adjacent places.
Commuters complained that wrong parking in evening hours is worsening the situation. “Scores of private cars are parked on roadsides. Footpaths are occupied by street vendors. There is no space for pedestrians to even walk. They are forced to walk on road which worsens the traffic jam,” Adil Ahmad, said a commuter at Polo View
During the day, considerable movement of pedestrian and private vehicles started in civil lines and uptown on Sunday afternoon. A brief traffic jam was also witnessed at Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh and Rambagh.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in city centre and Shaher-e-Khaas on consecutive 113th and Shaher-e-Khaas. Offices, shops and petrol pumps remained closed while public transport was off the roads. (KNS)
