Dual Tragedy Strikes J&K: Father-Son Duo Perish in Kathua, Two More Fall to Gorge Depths at Margan

A man and his son were killed when a truck hit them here on Thursday, officials said.

Residents of the Korepunnu village blocked the border road and held a protest against the duo’s death. The duo were on their way to their house at the Nagari village, when a fast-driven truck crushed them to death, they said. The villagers demanded strict action against the erring driver.

Former sarpanch Vinay Kumar, who was leading the dharna, demanded the night time be fixed to run the loaded dumpers (trucks).

Meanwhile,  Two persons have died when a load carrier met with an accident at Margan Top near Warwan area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.

Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the vehicle was on way from Anantnag to Marwah when it fell into a deep gorge near Naribaran, resulting in the death of two persons.

The deceased have been identified as Abid Hussain of Khudwani and Showkat Ahmed Pathana of Larnoo Matigowran. The official added that the vehicle has fell into a deep gorge and rescue operation is going on to retrieve the bodies.
