School Timings Revised in Kashmir Division from April 1
Srinagar, March 30, 2025 – The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued a formal order revising school timings across the Kashmir division, effective from April 1, 2025. The adjustment applies to both government and private educational institutions and aims to streamline operations as the summer season approaches.
Revised Timings
According to the DSEK order:
- Schools located within Srinagar municipal limits will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Schools outside Srinagar municipal limits and in other parts of Kashmir province will follow a schedule of 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
The DSEK emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to the revised timings and warned that any deviations would be “viewed seriously.”
Objective Behind the Change
The change in timings is aimed at accommodating seasonal adjustments, ensuring a smoother educational experience for students and staff. The decision reflects an effort to balance academic productivity with local climate conditions, which often necessitate alterations in the functioning of schools during different seasons.
Implementation and Compliance
The DSEK has directed all school authorities to implement the revised schedule from the stated date. The Directorate has also issued instructions for district education officers to monitor compliance and report any violations.
Parents and guardians have been urged to take note of the new timings to ensure timely attendance of their children at school. The announcement is seen as part of an effort to enhance the overall efficiency of the education system in Kashmir.
