Kashmiri students harassed in India - Shamim ShawlKashmiri representative, Sahmim Shawl has drawn the attention of the special rapporteur to words the plight of Kashmiri students in India.Sahmim Shawl addressing the Agenda item 3 interactive dialogue SR Education, on the sideline of 29th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, said about 33 present school buildings in occupied Kashmir are occupied by Indian army and other paramilitary forces which forces parents to send their children for higher education to India where they pay heavy fees.

She said during two years the students were subjected to religious profiling and harassed and even rusticated from the institutions. Last year, she said, 63 student were rusticated by university of Lucknow and over 200 students were forced to leave their education from Haryana.

She urged special rapporteur to take note of the situations and report to this council.
