BJP candidate stoned in Tral

he Bhartiya Janata Party candidate for volatile Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwom district on Friday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said Avtar Singh, the BJP candidate for Tral assembly segment, started to address people at Manghama village but the people interrupted his speech and shouted pro-freedom, anti-India and anti-BJP slogans.

“The protesters also resorted to stone-throwing on Avtar Singh and his supporters forcing them to flee,” the witnesses said.Sources said Manghama is Singh’s ancestral village. The village is 3 kilometers away from Tral Township where on Thursday late evening three militants were shot dead by government forces.
