BJP backed Muslim cleric to station at polling booths

About 100 Muslim clerics backed by Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party will remain stationed at the polling booths on poll days, the Jamaat Ulema-i-Hind (JUH), an Indian Muslim group, Friday said and added: it had a prime responsibility to make the right wing party acceptable to masses in Kashmir.

Bijnore cleric and JUH chief Suhaib Qasmi reiterated to keep ‘Modi wave’ in motion and to accomplish BJP’s Mission 44+ in Jammu and Kashmir. “The sole motive of his organization is to spread ‘Modi wave’ and in this regard 150 ‘Islamic’ clerics have been camping in Kashmir who are in touch with masses and Kashmir clerics,” he said.

Qasmi while interacting with people in Habakadal, Batemaluen and Charar-e-Sharif said that after coming off with flying colors in Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections, BJP has been utilizing its all resources and energy on Jammu and Kashmir to secure majority in the Legislative Assembly of the state. “It is the job of JUH to make BJP party of masses in Kashmir and attain the 44+ mission and for this purpose we have chalked out a detailed plan under which more than 150 clerics of different states of India have already been camping here and are busy in propagating the policies and and principles of BJP among Kashmiri people,” he said.

He added that JUH has chalked out a plan under which all but 100 clerics will remain present at every polling booth on the polling days in Kashmir.

Some of the clerics of BJP sponsored JUH who are camping in Kashmir include Maulana Kokab Mujtaba Abdi, Maulana Sajid Gujrati, Maulana Reyaz Manipuri, Maulana Qari Faiz Ashraf Sherwani Jalal Abadi, Maulana Afsar Muftayi Muzafar Nagri, Maulana Waiz Chengazi and others.

A native of Bijnore in India’s Uttar Pradesh, Suhaib Qasmi whose organization is an ardent supporter of RSS and BJP said that his party has worked positively to narrow the gap between the Muslims and BJP and also has taken positive steps to overcome the dislike among Muslims for BJP.

He claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave no stone unturned in developing Kashmir and protecting the rights of people here.
