Geelani hails Srinagar ‘boycott’
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Sunday hailed people of Srinagar for boycotting fourth phase of polls, saying development carries least importance under ”occupation”.
He said people of Srinagar deserve kudos for ‘boycotting the sham’ elections and that the slogans of development are unimportant when forces rule the roost in any region.
Geelani, in a statement, said that the main objective for the people must be to strive for their birth right and that the voting plays a vital role in undermining and diverting the attention of any nation from their main objective.
“People must be appreciated for boycotting the elections. Polls no way resolve the issues of people. Only faces and nothing else change on ground. We have to remember that our main objective is freedom from the occupation,” Geelani added.
