Haemophilic patients to file case against authorities

Non-availability of medicines

After the death of a haemophilic patient in SKIMS, the other patients of the same diseases Friday said that they are going to file a complaint against the authorities for not providing them medicines timely.
Muhammad Shafi Lone, the father of the deceased, said, “My son will not come again but to save lives of other patients some kind of action needs to be taken against these people (authorities).”
“We can’t remain silent now as they have to answer what is happening inside the healthcare system. They can’t let us die like that and more importantly nobody from the administration is doing anything for us,” said Adil, a haemophilic patient.
“We are suffering a lot as most of the patients fall prey to this deadly disease one after the other but government doesn’t care about us and we are left at the mercy of God,” said Parvaiz Ahmad, another haemophilic patient from Tral.
“The only concern for us is that medicines must be available in the hospitals all the time,” he further added.
“We have time and again being cheated by the authorities as they make false promises to us every now and then, but we can’t be fooled anymore,” said by PirNaseer of Handwara.
“We are trying our best to get the medicines so that patients won’t suffer but due to indifferent attitude of the authorities, these people are suffering which is unfortunate. Government must grant funds so that medicines could be purchased timely to help the patients out,” said by medico at Haemophilic Centre, SMHS Hospital here.
