Major reshuffle in administration, police on cards

With imposition of Governor rule in the state, a major reshuffle in police and civil administration is on cards, sources said.

They said Governor N N Vohra is expected to affect a major reshuffle in police and civil administration as he has asked the senior officers that law and order and good governance is his top priority.

“Governor will affect a minor bureaucratic reshuffle in couple of days, however, he will go for a major bureaucratic reshuffle after Republic Day celebrations,” sources said.

The Governor after formally taking charge of the state on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting with top officials, including Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and all secretaries at the Secretariat here.

The governor in this meeting has said development, besides measures for security and good governance would be given a top priority by him.

Meanwhile, sources said that the current grim situation about the formation of government indicates that Governor rule, which was imposed on Friday, is going to stay for a longer period in Jammu and Kashmir.

They said that what has given the strength to the governor rule is the complete disinterest shown by the PDP, a key player in the Government formation. Though the BJP has said that the new government will be formed however the way the governor is going ahead with running the administration, it seems unlikely, sources said.
