Several delegations meet J&K Governor

Several delegations today called on Governor NN Vohra to apprise him about various issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

A 15-member delegation led by Kathua MLA Rajeev Jasrotia called on the Governor, and submitted a memorandum to him.

“The demands raised by the delegation included additional fund requirements for municipal council of the district, allocations for improving power supply, water supply and roads in Kathua. The delegation demanded full ration quota even as per 2001 Census, and smooth functioning of health, agriculture and education sectors in Kathua constituency,” a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.

Kangan MLA Mian Altaf Ahmad also met the Governor and informed him about various problems faced by the people in his constituency.

Amirakadal MLA Syed Altaf Bukhari visited Vohra to apprise about various post flood problems being faced by the people of his constituency.

A three-member delegation of tour operators led by Rauf Tramboo, president, adventure tour operators association of Kashmir, also called on the Governor.

The delegation apprised the Governor about the slowdown in the number of tourist arrivals in the state, particularly in the Kashmir Valley, after the floods in September 2014.
