Kashmir tour operators embark on tourism promotional campaign

Valley based tour operators have embarked on aggressive tourism marketing campaign by highlighting State’s vast tourism potential at many cities in India.
Presently the tour operators are in Jaipur in the ongoing Great Indian Travel Bazar which began today. The travel agents are meeting leading tours operators to sell Kashmir as the prime tourist destination in India.
Among those who are on the marketing campaign tour are Ather Yameen Narwari of Earth Explorers Travel & Tours, Mohammad Akram Siah of Meena Travels India Pvt Ltd, Wasim Siah of Price Tours, Ibrahim Siah of Shahnama Tours, Nazir Gosani of Johnasen Travels, Ali Mohd Shangaloo of Shangaloo Travels, Nasir Shah of CNE and Showket Pakhtoon of Elizabeth Travels.
The travel agents had earlier held tourism promotional campaigns at Delhi where they also participated in the road show.
In Delhi, the travel agents also met first secretary of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia A H Khalid.
“We had a very useful meeting with Saudi diplomat and we talked about promoting Kashmir among Saudis,” said Siah.
Saih said the Secretary also invited them for a FAM tour to his country.
On April 16, the travel agents participated in India Today Conclave at Maurya Sheraton, on April 17 they held a Road Show Select City Walk Saket, next day on April 18 another Road Show was held at Delhi Haat while on Sunday the tour operators participated in the ongoing Great Indian Travel Bazar at Jaipur which will conclude on April 21.
Speaking over phone from Jaipur, Akram Siah of Meena Travels said they have held tourism promotional campaigns in Delhi and Jaipur during which they interacted with many leading travel agents of India.
“We highlighted Kashmir as the unique travel destination. J&K is the only state in India which has every type of tourism product to offer for every taste of travelers. We urging travel agents to sell Kashmir in their every product,” said Siah.
Notably, all the travel agents currently on the promotional tour along with the Department of tourism Kashmir are the veterans of the trade and have promoted Kashmir even during testing times.
Prince Tours has done notable work during 1990s during which tourist inflow fell to negligible due to turmoil. However, the travel agency attracted tourists to Valley against all odds.
Ather Yameen of Earth Explore while speaking, said the travel agents will also participate visit other states in summer to promote Kashmir.
