Confidence expressed in Syed Ali Gilani’s leadershipA function of the forum patronized by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, was held at Hyderpora in Srinagar today.

Eight Hurriyet leaders while responding to the unity call of Syed Ali Gilani joined the forum. The leaders who joined the forum included Yasmeen Raja of Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash of Islamic Political Party, Syed Bashir Andrabi of Kashmir Freedom Front, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed of Muslim League, Bilal Sidiqui of Tehreek-e-Mazahmat, Chaudhry Shaheen Iqbal of Gujjar Pahari Forum, Mir Shahid Saleem of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement and Shabbir Ahmad of Perwan-e-Wilayat.

The joining leaders expressed their unwavering trust in the leadership of Syed Ali Gilani and reiterated their resolve to continue the liberation struggle under the stewardship of the veteran leader. Syed Ali Gilani on the occasion welcomed the joining leaders and said that the unity based on high principles and lofty ideals was destined to succeed.

All the constituents of the forum including those who joined today signed a document namely, Hurriyet Charter (Meesaq-w-Hurriyet), reaffirming their faith in the 1993 constitution of All Parties Hurriyet Conference. They rejecting the status quo on Kashmir and internal autonomy emphasized that nothing short of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian bondage will be accepted.

The joining leaders on the occasion said that they had taken the step in response to Syed Ali Gilani’s call for unity. They emphasized that they had full trust in the leadership of the veteran Hurriyet leader.

Syed Ali Gilani on the occasion, welcoming the joining leaders, said that the people of Kashmir and their leadership would fight Indian occupation with more unity of thought and action.

He said that no freedom movement of any nation had, so far, failed and reiterated the pledge to remain steadfast on the principled stance till death.

The function was chaired by Syed Ali Gilani.
