JKLF holds rally against victimization of Jammu Muslims
Police arrest several party leaders, activists
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front held a rally in Srinagar, today, against the anti-Muslim activities in Jammu region by the activists of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other fanatic Hindu organisations.
The JKLF leaders and activists took out the rally from Aabi Guzar area of Srinagar and started to march towards Lal Chowk raising high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. As the participants reached near Pre Enclave, Indian police and troops used brute force to disperse them.
The police also arrested over a dozen JKLF leaders and activists including Bashir Ahmed Butt, Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed, Bashir Ahmed Kashmiri Sheikh Khalid Mubarik, Ghulam Muhammad Dar, Muhammad Hanif, Imtiyaz Ahmed Ganai, Shakir Ahmed Aahangar, Basharat Ahmed Butt and Ali Muhammad Butt.
Earlier, addressing the participants, the JKLF Vice Chairman, Bashir Ahmed Butt said that soon after the inception of present PDP-BJP regime, the Hindu extremists started harassing the Muslims of Jammu region to force them to migrate from their homes. He said that the Puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was furthering the RSS agenda in Kashmir to change the demography of the territory.
He warned India and its puppets in the territory that if the victimization of Jammu Muslims was not stopped forthwith, a mass agitation would be started in the Kashmir Valley.
