Kalai Collapses

Panic gripped Kalai Ander area in old city here when a portion of historical wall around Hariparbat fort  (Kalai) collapsed.

“The major portion of the highest wall adjacent to Kathi Darwaza has collapsed thereby blocking the road leading to Central Jail,” witnesses said.

Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Khan a resident of the area and the head of civil society Kathi Darwaza said that tourism department has once again failed to protect this monument.

The rest of the  wall is completely unsafe and can come down anytime.

Pertinently, the renovation of this 15th century monument was taken up by department of tourism in 2012, just after a year of its renovation the mighty wall  has started collapsing.
