Bhaderwah observes partial bandh; Muslims hold protests in Jammu against Hindu Mahasabha chiefMuslim community Friday staged a protest demonstration against the Hindu Mahasabha chief Kamlesh Tiwari demanding his arrest, while in Bhaderwah the business establishments were closed on Friday.
Angered over the remarks of the Hindu Mahasabha leader against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the community members took out protest march in Old City from Talab Khitikan to Shaheedi Chowk after Friday prayers.
The protesters were shouting slogans against the saffron leader and demanded that police should arrest him for his remarks. Meanwhile, Imam Jama Masjid Talab Khitikan also expressed his serious concern over the remarks and demanded action against Tiwari.
“Saffron people trying to disturb peace across the country with the controversial statement against a community and it should be stopped. Government should act against them,” he demanded while addressing people.
Similarly a protest demonstration was taken out in Bhaderwah town of Doda district by the agitated people after offering Friday prayers;, business establishment remained closed on the call of Anjuman Islamia (Bhaderwah).
Speaking on the occasion, Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah vice president Shahid Hussain Najar and other members included Riaz Ahmed Najar, Parvez Najar and Adil Ganai demanded that government should take strict action against the Hindu Mahasabha chief for allegedly circulating pamphlets containing derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Muslims in Saharanpur and Deoband areas.
They also alleged that some leaders are hell bent to disturb the congenial atmosphere of whole country and government should book those leaders.
Senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Ahmad Shah offered Friday prayers in Jama Masjid in Talab Khitikan. He, however, did not participate in the protest demonstration.
