Spurious medicine trade continues in JK: DAK

Spurious medicine trade continues in JK - DAKDoctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Tuesday said trade of spurious drugs was continuing unabated in Jammu and Kashmir and that nothing was being done to curb the menace.
Alarmed by the reports of widespread presence of the spurious drugs, President DAK faction led by DrNisarul Hassan in a statement said JK has turned to be safe bastion for trade in substandard and fake drugs.
“Everyday patients suffer and even die because of this menace. In a recent report, an anti-diabetic drug, Blisto-4MF, manufactured in Jammu was found spurious and the quantity of drug was found nil in the sample taken. In another report, three injections vizDicloliv, Phenergram B and Lezon lifted from Sopore and Baramulla after public uproar, were declared spurious. Another antibiotic drug, metronidazole is continuously used in Kashmir hospitals after being declared substandard four months ago,” DrNisar said.
“As many as 265000 Maximizin tablets were issued by various government hospitals to patients across the state, out of which 230000 were consumed,” DAK president said.
