All is well on PDP-BJP alliance; Nirmal Singh

All is well on PDP-BJP alliance; Nirmal SinghFormer Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dr Nirmal Singh on Tuesday met the Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti here, hours before the former coalition partners separately met Governor NN Vohra at Raj Bhavan.

Nirmal, who was Deputy Chief Minister in Mufti Muhammad Sayeed-led Cabinet, drove to the State Guest House here to meet Mehbooba after she arrived here. Mehbooba was in the winter capital for the first time after the death of Sayeed on January 7.
Although it couldn’t be known what transpired in the meeting, Nirmal described it as a “courtesy call.”
“It was a courtesy call as Mehboobaji had visited Jammu for the first time after the demise of Mufti Sahab,” he repeatedly said when asked what transpired during the deliberations between him and Mehbooba.
He sounded optimistic about government formation in the State. “We are hopeful to take forward the vision envisaged by NarendraModiJi and Mufti Sahab,” he said.
He said the PDP-BJP coalition will continue in the State. “Everything is fine,” he said.
Asked when the government will be formed, Nirmal said: “I cannot give a timeframe at this stage.”
Later in the day, Vohra held separate meetings with PDP and BJP leadership on government formation in the State.
