Admin to organise cricket tournaments between Jammu and Kashmir
In order to boost the sports scenario in the state, an inaugural friendly cricket tournament will be played between the Jammu and Kashmir divisions soon.
The series will consist of three matches and it will be a starter for bigger cricket series later to be played between the teams of all the deputy commissioners under the respective Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir.
The initiative has been mooted in order to promote sports activities in the state and engage youth in useful activities and encourage local talent during the events.
In this connection the administration is going to formally write to the BCCI officials to request them to send cricket knowing persons or ex-cricketers for the encouragement of the players taking part in the prospective cricket tournaments.
The administration will also felicitate the players who will perform better during the upcoming events.
