Demands action against Kanhaiya for accusing army men of raping women in Kashmir

Farooq defends Indian Army, demands action against KanhaiyaNational Conference president and former chief minister Farooq Abdullah on Thursday defended Indian army saying “one who speaks against defense forces is not a right man”.

“Go and ask him (Kanhaiya Kumar) why he is spitting venom against Indian Army,” Abdullah told reporters in Udhampur today.

The media men sought his reaction over allegations of JNUs student leader Kahnhaiya Kumar that Indian Army was raping women in Kashmir.

“One who speaks against Indian army is not the right man,” the NC president said.

He also advocated action against Kanhaiya for his statement against Indian army.

Farooq had gone to Udhampur to meet the family members of Army officer Captain Tushar Mahajan, who was killed during an encounter with militants at EDI building in Sempora, Pampore.

On AFSPA, NC president demanded withdrawal of the controversial act from the State.

He said the Act should be withdrawn from the State. “It depends upon the situation and place where the AFSPA is not required,” he said adding “What is the need of AFSPA in Udhampur?”

“It is the security agencies, who have to take final call on the removal of AFSPA. The security agencies must identify areas where AFSPA is not required,” Farooq said.

He demanded that Udhampur Railway Station be named after Captain Tushar Mahajan.

In response to a question on delay in government formation, Farooq said, “What can I do if PDP-BJP is not forming the government”.

“We don’t have numbers and we cannot do it,” he said.
