Heat wave continues in Jammu, Mercury touches 36 DegreeIt is just the beginning of summer season but heat wave has gripped Jammu, the winter capital of the state, for past few days and today’s temperature crossed 36 Degrees mark.
Jammu has been experiencing extreme heat for the past several days and Monday the city recorded its highest temperature for the month of April.
“Jammu has crossed 36.3 degree Celsius in April, it not normal,” said Jammu-based Met spokesperson.
The Meteorological Department also predicted dry weather for the next few days. “The weather is expected to remain dry in the state for two more days,” he said, adding, “Day temperature in Jammu is likely to rise”.
“Katra, the base camp of Vaishno Devi Shrine, recorded at 32 degrees Celsius,” the spokesperson said.
The maximum temperature in Banihal was recorded at 24.2 degrees Celsius, Batote at 23.3 degrees Celsius and famous hill station and tourist paradise Bhaderwah at 25.1 degrees Celsius.
“The minimum temperature in Jammu was 11.96 degrees Celsius, he added.
MeT officials predicted clear sky for Tuesday with maximum and minimum temperatures around 37 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
