Hurriyat (G) reiterates call for protests after Friday prayersChairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday thanked the people for observing shutdown jointly and reiterated his call for holding of peaceful protest demonstration after the Friday congregation prayers on May 27.
The shutdown call was jointly given by by the separatist leadership against the proposed plans of creation of the separate clusters for the Pandits, establishing Sainik colonies, BJP leader Choudhary Lal Singh’s warning to the Jammu Muslims and induction of new anti-Kashmir industrial policy in Kashmir.
Geelani made it clear that unless the government completely shuns ‘anti-Kashmir ideas’ and assures the people in this regard, the protests will continue and we will not allow the implementation of the RSS agenda in Jammu & Kashmir at any cost.’
In a statement issued here Geelani reiterated his stand that “we welcome the tourists with open arms and our nation feels pride in serving them but we can’t close our eyes from our national responsibilities and nor will we allow the communal Sangh Parivar to do whatever they want in this Muslim majority region.”
Geelani criticized all the mainstream political parties including PDP and NC for the fact that they play same role in their respective regimes and obey every order from New Delhi. “The policy makers of India are using every method to suppress the peaceful voices of the Kashmiri people and to eliminate their Muslim identity and these local parties play the role of facilitators for the New Delhi,” Geelani said adding that PDP is lying about Sainik and Pandit Colonies but Sangh Parivar leaders everyday counter their lies and expose them before public.
