Govt facilitating entry of non-state subjects to JK: Mirwaiz

Govt facilitating entry of non-state subjects to JK - MirwaizStating that “RSS-led” PDP-BJP government is “facilitating” entry of non-state subjects to Jammu and Kashmir, the Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said the resistance leadership has agreed to form a group to hold deliberations with Kashmiri Pandits living outside on return of migrant Pandits to the Valley.
“A delegation of Kashmiri Pandits had come to meet me and the meeting was very positive,” Mirwaiz said, addressing a gathering that was protesting the “anti-Kashmir policies” of the Government, outside historic Jamia Masjid here. “It has been agreed between the resistance leadership (including myself, Syed Ali Geelani Sahib and Muhammad Yasin Malik Sahib) that a group would be formed among these parties that will initiate a process of dialogue and deliberation with Kashmiri Pandits across the board to understand their concerns. The group will also give assurances they need on their return to Kashmir.”
“From our side we will ask them to meet the Pandits living in J&K and see for themselves that they are most secure and living side by side with other communities rather than in separate colonies,” he said.
“The proposed creation of Sainik Colonies in Kashmir and the anti-Kashmir New Industrial Policy is a ploy to facilitate entry of non-state subjects to Jammu and Kashmir and thus change the demographic character of the state as well as its disputed nature,” Mirwaiz said.
He said the “real agenda of the government, which is being run from Nagpur (RSS headquarters) is to facilitate entry of non-state subjects into Jammu and Kashmir—through Sainik Colonies, settling West-Pakistan refugees, giving permanent homes to non-local slum dwellers and through the New Industrial Policy.”
About the New Industrial Policy, Mirwaiz called it “dishonest and controversial, with a purpose to subvert industrial growth and self-reliance of Kashmir entrepreneurs and allot large chunks of land in Kashmir to non-state subjects on the pretext of investment.”
“In the light of the past experience, it appears that the purpose of outsiders after grabbing the land is not development of industry or employment generation but take benefit from incentives in crores that they get from the state exchequer (actually the money of Kashmiri tax payer) after getting the land,” he said.
He said there are glaring examples of such practices, especially the Jammu and Kathua Industrial Units which were ostensibly set up with the purpose of increasing industrial production and employment for youth in Jammu and Kashmir, but ended up “existing in paper only while the land owners grabbed incentives worth crores.”
“Land was allotted to non-state subjects at places like Zainakote and Lethpora for establishment of industrial units which never took off and these people have sublet the allotted land to forces and are enjoying rentals from them,” he said.
Mirwaiz said instead of addressing the “brazen inequality” that exists with regard to industrial policy between Jammu region and Kashmir division, where 95% incentive goes to Jammu and only 5 % to Kashmir division, “matters are being deliberately worsened for Kashmir entrepreneurs by such sinister policies.”
“Four different versions in this regard have come from four mouthpieces of the coalition government, giving rise to grave suspicion,” he said, warning the government that “we are closely watching the entire situation and are well aware of the RSS agenda that it is following.”
He also condemned restrictions, house arrests and detention of resistance leaders and activists and described it as “frustration of the government.” Mirwaiz also demanded a fair probe into the killing of Bemina youth Tanveer Sultan.

Malik Detained
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik who was scheduled to address a public gathering in south Kashmir’s Anantnag (Islamabad) town Friday was arrested by police at Pampore.
Police had erected checkpoints at many places on Srinagar-Anantnag highway and when Malik and other members of JKLF delegation reached Sempora near Pampore, police stopped and arrested them.
“Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested along with JKLF vice chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Ajmal, Sheikh Khalid Mubarak, Professor Javed and Muhammad Amin Magloo. However, another JKLF delegation reached Islamabad and asked people to boycott upcoming by-elections,” a Front spokesman said.
“These arrests, ban on freedom of speech and restrictions are exposing the tall claims of PDP rulers who are continuously using the rhetoric of ‘battle of ideas’ to hoodwink international community and Kashmiri people. The Chief Minister recently in Assembly claimed that during PDP rule they allowed voices of dissent and even resistance camp was allowed to run election boycott campaign. But the truth is otherwise,” a JKLF spokesman quoted Yasin Malik as having said in his message.
“Today we have been arrested miles away from Islamabad and these arrests are actually exposing the blatant lies and deceitful politics of PDP rulers.”
Appealing people to boycott the Anantnag by-polls, Yasin Malik said: “Casting vote is harmful for the sacred cause of martyrs and amounts to committing a national crime.”
“How can anyone strengthen RSS-backed politicians, how can anyone vote for those parties and persons who are hell bent upon implementing anti-Kashmir, anti-Muslim agenda of RSS in Jammu and Kashmir; how can anyone vote for those who hanged father of nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru,” Malik said, adding that “all pro-India parties and politicians are like two sides of the same coin and are deployed for safeguarding Indian interests in Jammu and Kashmir and our reply to them should be a total and unanimous boycott on 22 June 2016.”
Meanwhile, a delegation of JKLF led by zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and including zonal general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid and others managed to reach Anantnag town.
“They addressed a gathering at Jamia Masjid Islamabad and asked people to stay away from the elections as these were detrimental to the interests of Kashmiris. Strong protests against farce elections and arrest of Muhammad Yasin Malik were also held,” the Front spokesman said.
