Shopian witnessed fresh clashes injuring 9 Persons; Rallies held across south KashmirNine persons were injured during clashes between the protesters and forces personnel in Imam Sahib area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, witnesses said.

Clashes erupted in the area after forces tried to break up protests against civilian killings in the Valley.  Separately, rallies were held in Kaimoh-Khudwani area of Kulgam district. Bike and car rallies were taken out in Duchnipora villages of Bijbehara.

Huge congregation of people assembled at Jablipora village of Bijbehara to protest against the recent killings.

Thousands of people Tuesday assembled at Tungdana, area of Kulgam district to protest against the latest civilian killings at the hands of government forces.

Locals sources said that led by elders, the protesters are have started a March in the district. They said that elders are repeatedly making appeals of remaining peaceful during the March.

Meanwhile, alleging the SOG men of barging into the houses and not only thrashing people but also misbehaving with women in Kanelwan area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district people from dozens of villages have taken to streets.

They are using mosque loudspeakers to convey their message to other areas.

Hundreds of people are on the roads and every mosque loudspeaker is abuzz with announcements being made.
