Syed Ali Shah Geelani hails 100 days of Kashmir Valley unrest as ‘Historic Victory’

Geelani was scheduled to “address the nation” Saturday, but security personnel cordoned off his residence.

Terming the 100 days of protest following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani as a “historic victory”, Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani Saturday said the “uprising has exposed and isolated” the ruling PDP.
Geelani was scheduled to “address the nation” Saturday, but security personnel cordoned off his residence. The communication lines to Geelani’s house were also snapped.
His statement, mailed to media later, said: “These three months have been the reiteration of… the simple truth that freedom is the right of every human being and it is a right we are destined to achieve.”
