Stop promoting monopolistic practices in purchase of books, uniforms: DSEK to Pvt Educational Institutions

The Government has asked private educational institutions not to compel their students to purchase uniforms/books/stationary items from within the schools or from the shops/agencies nominated by them.school bags

While terming the practice as unethical and anti-people, Director School Education Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat Friday issued a circular in this regard.

According to the circular, all Chief Education Officers have been ordered to direct all the heads of Private Schools to refrain from any such practices forthwith.

He said disciplinary action as warranted under rules shall be taken against any private educational institute violating the rule. “All the CEOs have been directed to bring into notice of Director any such violations immediately,” read the statement.

The circular has been widely hailed by public as a major step to streamline education system in Kashmir.

Further director in another order has has instructed all the Chief Education Officers to implement the order regarding fee waiver for girl students immediately.
