Civilian killed in Kakapora clashes, Multiple funerals held for slain Lashkar militants

A civilian was killed during clashes between protesters and government forces in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Touseef Ahmad Wani, a resident of Tengpuna village of the district, had suffered multiple pellet injuries, said an official.

He was shifted to Sub-district hospital pampore where he was declared dead on arrival.
Clashes erupted after youth took to streets against the killing of three militants in a gunfight earlier today.

Multiple funerals were held on Thursday for three militants killed in a gunfight with government forces in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised during the funeral of Majid and Shariq in Kakapora and Sheeraz Ahmad in Padgampora area of Awantipora.

Three rounds of funeral prayers were held for Sheeraz at Jamia Masjid Awantipora and his ancestral Aghazipora village located across the Jhelum river.
In Kakapora, joint funeral prayers were held for Majid and Shariq.
