Kashmir and tourism are more often taken as synonymous terms.As the valley of Kashmir is rich with scenic natural beauty that has no other analogy in the world. It is rightly called ‘paradise on earth’. Cradled in the lap of splendid mountains of the Himalayas, Kashmir is the most gorgeous place on earth. On visiting the Valley of Kashmir, Jehangir, a renowned Mughal King, is said to have exclaimed: “If there is paradise anywhere on earth, it is here, it is here, and it is here.
But currently With every passing day things related to travel and sector across valley are moving from bad to worst. Once a paradise on earth has turned a valley of ghost, with very little foot fall of tourists. Hotels / Houseboats / Cabs are almost empty. And the current credit goes to the latest diktats issued from the parachute media, fanatic voices of so called proud Indians who are hell bent to crush the economy of Kashmir
As a matter of fact, Kashmir has a great history of its survival in adverse situations, but, in this grim situation the tourism and travel trade is taking unprecedented hit. We can only keep our morale high and lets give the forces who want to see kashmir economy destroyed a betting reply so they can have a lesson for life. So, people at the helm sane voices are requested to think of the way out how we can overcome this difficult phase.
From Hoteliers to Drivers, craftsmen to art businessman, poney wala to restaurant owners everyone associated with travel and tourism trade is witnessing a very unheard downslide.
Government apathy is looming large over the Tourism sector of Kashmir as a result of which the whole hotel industry is in shambles.Despite harsh situations faced by entire travel and tourism sector of Kashmir it is quite surprising that the state Government has no Tourism Policy in place till date. We are of a firm view that a comprehensive Tourism Policy would act as a proper guide for overall growth of tourism industry. But as of now there is notourism policy with the State Government
Keeping the dark nature of situation into the consideration lets all brainstorm and chalk out a plan to get the ball rolling in our favor.
