Three youth injured in Army firing at Saderkoot Bandipora

Three youth were injured after army opened fire in Saderkoot Bala area of district Bandipora on Saturday morning.

The injured have been identified as Hilal Ahmed Wani s/o Abdul Ahad Wani, Latief Ahmed Khan s/o Muhmmad Yousuf Khan and Suhail Ahmed Bhat s/o Nazir Ahmed Baht.

Hilal has fire injuries in upper leg, Suhail’s both legs have been fired upon and Latief was hit on right ear.

An attended accompanying the injured to a Srinagar hospital told Kashmir Post that army resorted to  unprovoked firing on protesting youth following the stone pelting on army vehicles.

They told Kashmir Post “The Army vehicles during the stone pelting incident left without any retaliation however the troopers of a local camp came out and start firing towards people who were protesting at Main Chowk Saderkoot injuring three youth.”

Huge contingents of the state government forces have been rushed to the area to contain the protests.

When Kashmir Post contacted a local Army officer he denied any involvement of army saying: “Army has not fired upon anyone. These are false allegations.”

Kashmir Post has learnt that situation in Sonawari, Hajin, Sumbal, Saderkoot and Ajas areas of district Bandipora are tense after the killing of local militant Abid Hamid Mir.

Three militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit were killed in an encounter with state government forces in Amargrah area of Sopore on Saturday morning.

With the death of these three militants, the total death causalities since July 30 have reached to 15.

On July 30, two militants, identified as Shariq Ahmad of Gulzarpora, Awantipora and Showkat Ahmed aka Shabir of Mihind area of district Anantnag were killed in Tahab area of district Pulwama.

On August 01, LeT Commander Abu Dujana along with his local associate Arif Nabi Bhat were killed at Hakripora village of district Pulwama. Two civilians, identified as Firdous Ahmed Khan and Aqeel Ahmad Bhat were shot dead by the state government forces during the post encounter clashes.

On August 03, two army men were killed, identified as Major Pandey and Sepoy Chhultim, in Zaipora area of Shopian district.

On the same day, August 03, two Hizb Militants were killed in Gopalpora area of district Kulgam, identified as, Aqib Ahmad Itoo of Gopalpora and Suhail Rather of Tantraypora, Yaripora Kulgam.

On August 04, a 10-day-old militant, identified as Yawar Nisar was killed at Kanelwan, Bijbehara area of district Anantnag. One civilian, identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, son of Mohammad Yousuf, of Arwini area of Kulgam, was also shot dead by the state government forces.

On August 05, three LeT militants, identified as Abid Hamid Mir of Mir Mohallah Hajin, Javid Ahmad Dar of Khanpora, Baramulla and third a foreigner, were killed in Amargrah area of Sopore.
