Video shows locals tending to injured Army men

A video showing locals coming to the rescue of Army men, injured in a road accident, has gone viral.
Police sources said the video was shot by some local on Sunday afternoon when an Army vehicle skidded off the road at Check-e-Pahroo village in Nowgam on the outskirts of Srinagar.
In the video, a group of locals is seen tending to the injured soldiers. Some of them are even seen offering water to the injured Army men.
The police said the Army vehicle had skidded off the road while giving way to a car coming from the opposite direction.
“Locals rushed to the spot and helped the soldiers who had received minor injuries,” said a police officer not authorised to speak to the media. “It was great gesture by the locals,” he said.
Srinagar-based defence spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said: “Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Chinar Corps chief, has thanked the locals for the gesture. This is a true indicator of ‘Kashmiriyat’ and ‘insaniyat’ where people help each other. This will go a long way in strengthening the bond of friendship between the ‘awaam’ and jawan.”
In another video gone viral on the social media on September 1 evening, locals were seen helping policemen injured in a militant ambush at Zeewan on the outskirts of Srinagar.
