Congress protests against Centre, State for ‘Protecting’ Jay Shah

Congress workers under the leadership of former minister Raman Bhalla today held a demonstration against the Union Government for protecting BJP president Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah.
The party also lodged its protest against portraying separatist leader Asiya Andrabi as a role model for women of the state.
The protest march began from the Congress headquarters and passed through different areas before it was stopped by the police while proceeding towards City Chowk. As the demonstration was not allowed to proceed further, party workers staged a dharna and raised slogans against the state and Central governments.
Earlier, Raman Bhalla, while addressing a gathering, lashed out at the Centre for its utter failure to check corruption at the highest level. The allegations against Jay Shah, son of BJP president Amit Shah, is not a concocted story, these charges are made with fact and figures and needs to be proved by an independent agency, Bhalla said.
Congress spokesman Ravinder Sharma, in his address, said countrymen want to know the truth on these allegations and demanded that the Prime Minister should immediately seek the resignation of Amit Shah from the post and hold an independent probe, headed by two sitting judges of the Supreme Court.
“The recent incident in which a top separatist leader Asiya Andrabi has been shown as a role model along with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and other great personalities like Mother Teresa, in the government campaign for “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” in Kashmir, is an insult to the nation,” Sharma said.
He questioned whether the BJP-PDP government wants the daughter to follow the path of separatism by showing Andrabi as their role model or were these deliberate attempts to appease the separatist elements in the state?
