Rohingya threat to security: Panun Kashmir
The Panun Kashmir has expressed satisfaction over Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement that Rohingya living illegally in the country would be deported to Burma after their identification. Addressing the media, Panun Kashmir president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said the stay of Rohingya in various parts of country, particularly in a sensitive state like J&K, was developing into a threat to the security and law and order situation. “We cannot absolve the role of those politicians who were responsible for their settlement in Jammu city and its suburbs over the last 15 years.
They should be exposed and the civil society should press the government to deport Rohingya and Bangladeshis living in the state,” he said. On the issue of controversy over Article 35A and Article 370, the Pandit body said these should be scrapped as they had created a feeling of a “state within a state” among the minorities, especially Kashmiri Pandits, who were the worst sufferers of the discriminatory provisions of the Constitution.
