BJP will sweep elections: Ravinder Raina

Ravinder Raina, state BJP unit president, on Monday said the party would sweep the municipal polls in the state and would back candidates in the panchayat polls that are being held on the non-party basis.

“We know that the NC and the PDP will field proxy candidates despite having announced boycott of these polls. We will expose their hypocrisy,” said Raina while talking to Kashmir Post.

For the panchayat elections, Raina said since the contest was on a non-party basis, the BJP would remain a watchdog of the proceedings.
He said the party had readied its activists and leaders for both the elections and its workers were reaching every nook and corner of the state to mobilise people to vote for the party for better future prospects.

“The BJP will sweep both the elections with a big margin and its elected candidates will work at the grass-root level to address problems of people,” said Raina.

Regarding the challenges and opportunities for the party in both the polls, Raina said, “The party which is close to people wins and we will grab all opportunities coming our way.”

As the RSS is likely to back the party, Raina said, “But being the parent organisation, the Sangh will support the BJP.”

“The state in charge and other national leaders will pay routine visits to the state,” he said.

He also said that under the dynamic administration of Governor Satya Pal Malik, the elections would be hassle-free and peaceful,” said Raina.

Next Mayor will be from our party: Panthers
Announcing to field candidates in all 75 wards of the Jammu Municipal Corporation in the upcoming urban local bodies polls, the J&K National Panthers Party has claimed that the next Mayor would be from their party.

This was announced by Panthers Party chairman Harsh Dev Singh during a meeting in Jammu. He appealed to various sections of society to vote and support the Panthers Party candidates in the elections to uphold the Dogra pride and honour.

He said the people of Jammu had been let down by all parties, including the BJP, Congress, NC and PDP. “With the Congress having receded into oblivion during the last four years, the BJP had disappointed the people of Jammu to the extent that their faith in the political system had been largely shattered,” Harsh Dev claimed. He said the people were now eagerly looking towards the Panthers Party.
