Via Manali, Ladakh region to get all weather road connectivity
The Ladakh region in J&K will now be accessible throughout the year, with an all-weather road giving more strategic advantage to the country.
A Border Roads Organisation (BRO) official said the cold desert would now be accessible by a double-laned motorable road from Manali in Himachal Pradesh via Zanskar of Kargil in J&K, which cuts through the Himalayas.
“The road will be a strategic advantage for the Kargil region, where transgressors from Pakistan took place in 1999,” he said.
Under the Project Vijayak of the BRO, tough mountains have been cut to construct a motorable road, which will enhance inter-state connectivity with Himachal.
