Tragedy Strikes Srinagar: Young Man Loses Life in Traffic Jam

A young man’s life was cut tragically short on May 2nd in Srinagar. 27-year-old Jahangir Ahmad, a resident of Narwara, was battling neurological issues for months. His condition took a turn for the worse that afternoon, prompting his family to rush him to SMHS Hospital.

Their urgent journey was stalled, however, by a crippling traffic jam in the Sekidafar area. Locals reported witnessing the family’s desperate attempts to navigate the congested roads. Despite the Safakadal police’s efforts to manage the situation, the delay proved fatal. Jahangir passed away before reaching the hospital, leaving his family and community in mourning.

This heartbreaking incident has cast a spotlight on Srinagar’s traffic woes. Locals are urging authorities to implement stricter measures to prevent similar tragedies. They emphasize the need for effective traffic management to ensure timely access to emergency services. Jahangir’s story serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of congested roads, and the importance of creating a smoother flow of traffic to safeguard lives.
