Cloudburst near Amarnath Yatra base camp, two killed
Tragedy struck the Amarnath Yatra late on Friday night when at least two minors were killed and 10 others injured following a cloudburst near the base camp in Baltal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
“Two bodies of minors were found in the wee hours today which include a girl, aged 13 and a boy, aged 12. At least 10 others have sustained injuries and 11 have gone missing,” a police official said this morning.
The cloudburst occurred late last night.
“Cloudburst struck near Baltal base camp and water entered some tents there,” he said.
Many pilgrims have been moved to safer places.
