Minor clash breaks out in old city area
Protests and minor clash erupted in Srinagar’s old city today. Sources said that a group of youth staged a protest march after Friday’s congregational prayers at Nowhatta.
A group of youth also raised pro-militant posters. Though there was no clash in Nowhatta area, a minor skirmish erupted in neighbouring Saraf Kadal as youth pelted stones on security forces.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressed the Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid, criticising the new Industrial Policy and taking up Sainik Colony issue.
