Pak offers assistance to flood-hit Kashmir
Pakistan today expressed grief over loss of lives and damage to property in floods in Kashmir and offered all possible assistance to the people in the Valley.
“It is indeed a great tragedy that has befallen on our Kashmiri brethren particularly as they were still recovering from the devastation of last year’s catastrophe. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families,” Foreign Office spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said in a statement.
Offering assistance to the victims, she said, “The entire Pakistani nation stands by our Kashmiri brothers and sisters and is ready to extend every possible assistance in their hour of need.”
Heavy rainfall since Saturday has already resulted in death of 16 people in Chadoora area of Budgam district of Kashmir.
