Senior PDP leader and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu Thursday said the coalition with the BJP was done to make Jammu and Kashmir ‘economically self sustainable.’

Joined hands with BJP to make JK economically self sustainable - DrabuTalking to KNS, Drabu said the state government is making efforts to make Jammu and Kashmir economically viable and politically stable. “My priority as a Finance Minister is to make the state self sufficient so that the begging bowl syndrome could no longer remain in vogue,” he said.

The Finance Minister said that the alliance between PDP and BJP is focused on development and receive maximum help from government of India to put JK back on gear that witnessed the dreadful economic crises in the previous regime.

Commenting over the reports of liabilities of Rs 9 thousand crore, Drabu said, “People question the preset government what happened to such a whopping amount and how it was spent. All we have prioritized is that no funds should lapse anymore. The central funds need to be spent on ground.”

He maintained that gradually the financial crises will cease in JK and the state machinery continues to remain on tenterhooks to accord relief to the perturbed people.

Over the delay in salaries to employees as reported in several departments, Drabu said, “The issue is ending and in near future all the government departments would be issued salaries on time. There would be no longer such difficulties faced by the state government employees. The crises would get over.”
