BJP casts job net in JK to win over unemployed youth

Constitutes team to focus on power, tourism

To win over unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP is gearing up to cast its net on them by assuring jobs within and outside State in bid to become most popular party in the State.

The party has constituted a team of experts comprising two groups, who would focus on JK’s two important sectors—tourism and power— to adjust the youth, willing to serve in the State and for those who are ready to move out.
All the 130 top business houses of India have been directed to make their vacancies available in January 2015.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the BJP’s chief campaigner for promoting the country’s tourism. We want JK to be country’s top tourism destination and that can happen only with the active campaigning by Modi,” BJP’s National Secretary, R P Singh told Greater Kashmir.
He said once the tourism in JK gets a fillip, first priority would be local youth.
“Then our agenda is to ensure 24-hour power supply in entire JK so that we could invite industrialists to set up their units here. We have observed at in Kishtwar alone, there is a huge potential for power generation,” Singh said.
“We are planning to bring a change in entire power generation system in the State so that some big houses can start their ventures and involve local youth right away.”
He said, for youth who would like to “serve the country” in any part they wish, the BJP team has already roped in 130 top business houses including Tatas and Ambhanis. “Why to involve a few business tycoons, we have involved all to ensure unemployment is tackled in JK,” Singh said.
A BJP leader said that a few senior leaders in the party have suggested to “modify or rename” the two Centrally Sponsored Skill Development Schemes— Udaan and Himayat— launched by the previous regime.
Member Parliament and party’s JK incharge, Avinash Rai Khanna said tourism and power are the major sectors in J&K and Prime Minister is keen to explore both sectors to ensure unemployed youth get jobs.
The BJP State chief, Jugal Kishore said that the party is in the field in JK with pro-people and pro-youth agenda. “Since elections are about to take place, we can’t unfold our job policy as it will amount to violation of code of conduct. But, soon after the polls, we will launch a mass employment drive and remove the tag of unemployment from the State,” he said.
Kishore said that many proposals are in the pipe-line that would be made public in first week of January 2015 when the new “BJP government would be in place in JK.”
