BJP will draw blank from Kashmir: Omar

NC promises districts to Basholi, Kalakote-Nowshera

Stating that people of the Valley have refused to buy the false promises of BJP and rejected its double speak, Working President National Conference and J&K Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday said that feeling the plus of poll trend in Kashmir, BJP leader Arun Jaitley has conceded that his party is not going to form the Government in the State.
“When this is the ground reality the people of Jammu have to exhibits wisdom to support local party National Conference and its candidates so that it forms the Government and carries forward its agenda of inclusive and holistic development along with peace and tranquility in the State”, Omar said and appealed the people to vote in grate numbers in favour of National Conference to script the prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir.
Omar Abdullah was addressing a largely attended election rally in a far-off area of Basholi of Jammu Division organized in favour of NC Candidate Devender Singh.
The Working President National Conference said that NC is the only party which represents aspirations of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions as also those of the sub-regions and all sections of the society. He said NC stands for unity, solidarity, peace, brotherhood and inclusive development of the State and it has proved its sincerity and commitment in this regard time and again. He said National Conference has never deceived people and will never deceive them in future for vote bank politics.
“Our motto and agenda is for permanent peace, political stability, prosperity, economic development and welfare of youth, women, work force, farmers and other sections of the society”, he said adding that NC like BJP and other parties do not speak different languages and different tones in different regions of the State but its commitment for justice, equality and inclusiveness is firm and glaring. He said history bears testimony to the fact that National Conference gave remarkable sacrifices but upheld the pluralistic ethos and safeguarded the solidarity and communal amity of the State.
The Working President National Conference ridiculed the opportunism of Congress and castigated its behaviour of shifting blames of its own wrong doings to National Conference. “It is surprising that Congress which was full of praises for National Conference while National Conference companied for Congress candidates in Parliament Elections, has suddenly started blaming NC in Assembly Elections for petty vote bank politics”, he said and maintained that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not going to buy this false propaganda. He said in fact Congress put all hurdles in implementing major public welfare measures in the State particularly the decision relating to creation of new Administrative Units.
The Chief Minister listed the major achievements of his Government registered during the last six years. He said that empowerment of people, establishment of Panchayat Raj, creation of new Administrative Units, enactment of Public Services Guarantee Act and State Right to Information Act besides other historic decisions aimed at upliftment of farmers, horticulturists, poorer sections of the society and welfare of youth and women goes to the credit to his Government.
Omar Abdullah said that in Basholi alone road construction schemes involving over Rs. 100 crore have been launched besides augmentingsupply of drinking water, upgraduing health and education sectors in the area.
Omar Abdullah said that Congress during its tenure of Government failed to recognize the genuine demand of district to Basholi and deprived the people of this area while announcing new districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Working President National Conference said that NC is confident that Basholi deserves the status of Hill District and if it returns to power it will grant two districts to Jammu Division – one for Basholi and other for Nowshera-Kalakote.
On reaching Basholi, Omar Abdullah was accorded rousing reception and people of the area who had gathered to listen him raised slogans in favour of National Conference and Omar Abdullah and chaired repeatedly while he addressed them.
