Modi to visit Kashmir on Dec 8

Putting all speculations about the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Srinagar to rest, the Bharatiya Janta Party Saturday said he would visit Srinagar on December 8 and will address an election rally at Sheri Kashmir Stadium here.

The Bhartiya Janta Party in its statement from New Delhi said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving Srinagar in the morning of the December 8 and will hold election rally in Sheri Kashmir Stadium at 12 pm.”

Meanwhile, confirming the Modi’s visit, BJP’s publicity and media in charge Altaf Thakur said that the BJP headquarter has confirmed to them that Modi is arriving here on December 8. “We have received the confirmation from Party Headquarter,” he said.

He added that on Sunday Union Minister Mukhtar Abas Naqvi is arriving here and is scheduled to address an election rally at Devsar and Humshalibugh.

Pertinently on his visit to Poonch on Friday Modi made an appeal to people of Jammu and Kashmir to “uproot dynasty rule from the politics of the state. “Real problem in J&K is dynasty rule by father-son and father-daughter and polls are the only means to treat this problem,” Modi had said.

The BJP is banking on the Modi wave as this is the first time that the party is fighting in majority of the seats. There are 87 assembly seats in the Jammu and Kashmir and the party wants to win majority of the seats.
