Mufti responsible for exodus of Kashmiri Pandits: NC
National Conference (NC) Saturday accused PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed of being responsible for the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley. He also accused Mufti of giving Kashmir some of its darkest and bloodiest chapters in a decade long history of the “most brutal turmoil this part of the world has ever seen.”
“Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was Delhi’s choicest lieutenant to further constitutional erosions in JK,” NC spokesman said in a statement.
He said Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s political career is marked by incidents like Gawkadal massacre, Bijbehara massacre, Handwara massacre and assassination of Shaheed Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq and Mirwaiz Moulvi Qazi Nisar.
“Mufti Sayeed gave AFSPA and Jagmohan to JK by signing a deal with L K Advani. What Jagmohan did in Kashmir under patronage of Mufti Sayeed is recorded in red ink in the pages of our history,” NC spokesman said adding that Mufti was also responsible mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.
He said Jagmohan and Mufti Sayeed were partners in brutal era of atrocities unleashed on innocent Kashmiri youth. “It is pertinent to remind the people of Kashmir about the countless cruelties and miseries inflicted by Mufti Sayeed and his coterie in New Delhi during the last three decades and it’s ironical that the same people spoke of ‘healing touch’ once upon a time,” he said adding how can Mufti Sayeed talk about human rights violations in Kashmir when he supervised them and remained silent as the all-important Home Minister of India?
