Omar tried to sabotage PM’s Srinagar rally: BJP

NC supporters attended Modi’s rally not Sajad Lone’s workers: Arora

The righting Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Wednesday accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of trying to sabotage Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Srinagar and said supporters of ruling National Conference and not Sajjad Lone’s Peoples Conference (PC) attended PM’s public meeting on December 8.
“Omar tried to sabotage PM’s Srinagar rally but failed,” said BJP State Vice President and in charge Kashmir affairs, Ramesh Arora.
He alleged that Omar convened a meeting just a day before Modi’s rally and asked police officials not to allow people in rally.
“Our workers were stopped by police at many places and not allowed to reach the venue. They were asked to go back,” Arora said alleging CM used his power to interrupt Modi’s mission but failed miserably.
On Omar’s charge that separatist-turned-mainstream politician Sajjad Gani Lone sent 80 vehicles of his supporters to the rally, he said there was not a single person from Sajjad’s PC in the rally.
“People, who attended Modi’s rally and cheered him, were NC supporters. They were fed up with anti-people policies of their party and participated in Modi’s rally and reposed faith in the BJP leadership,” he said.
Arora said before leveling allegations against Sajad, CM should evaluate the facts on ground. “Baseless allegations won’t work him to win”.
“It is BJP, who restored faith of people in the electoral process. It is result of our efforts that people are overwhelmingly participated in elections and exercising their right to franchise,” he said.
The BJP leader also demanded registering of FIR against CM in Nc worker Haji Yousuf’s mysterious death case.
“We demand that FIR be lodged as soon as possible in Haji Yusuf’s death case against Omar,” he said.
The son of late Haji Yusuf had recently appealed Modi to intervene and direct Director General of Police (DGP) to register murder case against Omar and other accused in the mysterious death of his father.
