BJP firm on its stand: Dr Jitendra

‘Process to grant citizenship rights to refugees on’

West Pakistan Refugees Settlement Row

Union Minister of State (MoS) in Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and senior BJP leader, Dr Jitendra Singh Friday said that his party is firm on its stand to rehabilitate the West Pakistan Refugees and process to grant citizenship rights to them was on.

“BJP is committed on its stand and the central government has initiated the process for permanent settlement of WPRs,” Dr Singh said while replying to the queries over disagreement of separatist leaders and Kashmir based parties over the issue.
“Its matter of union government and the views of others, who oppose this development, may not influence the government decision,” he said.
Pertinently, the row over the government of India’s move to grant citizenship rights to  refugees from   West Pakistan who are settled in Jammu is snowballing into a major political controversy.
