Governor seeks report on utilisation of Rs 1000 crore flood assistance

Jammu and Kashmir governor N N Vohra today sought a report on utilisation of Rs 1000 crore special assistance received from the Centre for repair and reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the last year’s devastating floods.

“The Governor has asked the Principal Secretary Planning and Development Department to urgently advise him about the action taken to utilise the Rs 1000 crore special assistance received from the Centre for carrying out repair and reconstruction work of the state infrastructure which has been damaged or destroyed by the floods in September last,” a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.

He said that the governor said he also convened a meeting to review the status of relief distribution to the flood affected people in the state.
