Land grab, illegal constructions continue to choke Khushaalsar
Notwithstanding the government claims, land grab, land-filling and illegal constructions continue to choke dying Khushaalsar waterbody in north City.
Even though the district administration last week undertook a demolition drive, the locals said the drive “was a half hearted measure.”
“Land filling and illegal constructions continue to go unchecked whereas the waterbody along Dr Ali Jan Road has been fenced in GI sheets to facilitate constructions,” the locals said. They appealed District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah to look into the matter. “There’s equally a dire need to get a walkway constructed along the existing portion of the waterbody so that its further vandalization is avoided,” the locals said.
