NC smells rat behind settlement of non-Kashmiris in JK

In occupied Kashmir, pro-India National Conference has said that the recommendations of India’s joint parliamentary committee about settlement of refugees in the territory is aimed at changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir. The NC General Secretary, Ali Muhammad Saghar at a party meeting in Srinagar said that the joint parliamentary committee’s recommendations for the permanent settlement of refugees in the territory was wicked conspiracy to change its demography and to alter its special status.

He said the anti- Kashmir elements, since day one, have been employing different tactics to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir and today they have raked up such issue again. Different parliamentary committees have recommended many different things for the territory like the return of the power projects to Kashmir, revoking the black laws, but all the governments in Delhi ignored these recommendations, he added.

Now the Indian government, he said, seems in a hurry to make this happen as soon as possible; we can smell a rat in these recommendations, further said.

He said conspiracies like these were even hatched in 2008, when there were attempts to transfer land to shrine board, which was a dangerous attempt to fiddle with special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
