Equitable development will be priority of BJP-PDP govt: Jitendra Singh

Equitable development of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir would be the priority of PDP-BJP government that is set to be sworn in, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Singh, who is MP from Udhampur, said the government would focus on issues like development which rise above all areas of disagreement and both the parties will have “equal participation and mutual respect”.

“I think the emphasis would be on issues which rise above all the areas of disagreement. For example notably the issue of development. Therefore the priority of both sides will be development and that too equitable development of all the three regions of the state,” Singh said.

He added that given the kind of mandate that had emerged in this election for the J&K Assembly, a PDP-BJP alliance was the best option available.

“This is a historic opportunity. This is the best decision that could have happened, given the kind of mandate that has been given by the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Singh.

He said the government would be formed on a great degree of mutual respect.

“We would have an equal participation in government and I think this is a government which is going to be formed with great degree of mutual respect on issues on which the two sides agree and also on issues on which the two sides disagree,” he added.
