Shah persuades Vinkatanarayan to organise activities in Valley this year

In a bid to promote Kashmir adventure tourism, the MD JKTDC and Director Tourism Kashmir, Farooq A Shah interacted with National Chairman of Youth Hostel Association of India Vinkatanarayan, and persuaded him to organise adventure tourism related activities in the Valley this year.

A spokesperson of the Tourism Department told KNS that Vinkatanarayan along with other members of the Association confirmed to organise camp and adventure tourism related activities in Kashmir.

“The chairman confirmed to send 5000 participants in 2015 who will indulge in different adventure activities like cycling, trekking etc,” he said and added Shah asked the Association to involve different tourist spots in Kashmir for such activities.

“Vinkatanarayan agreed to hold such camps in Srinagar, Dodhpathri, Pahalgam, Kokernag and Verinaag so that the whole tourism circuit gets involved and active,” he said.

The Director Tourism Kashmir assured all help to the guests and said that their aim is to promote Jammu Kashmir as complete destination for adventure tourism, golf tourism, conference tourism, winter tourism, leisure, pilgrim and heritage tourism.

Earlier last week Shah in a bid to promote Kashmir tourism on international market, interacted with Indian ambassadors to Thailand, Singapore, Tanzania and UAE. He requested them to use their good offices for promotion of Kashmir tourism in the respective countries.
