Dewater city areas: DC tells officials

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmad Lone on Sunday reviewed arrangements for dewatering in various areas of the summer capital.
In the wake of incessant rains, the DC directed the concerned departments to make arrangements for dewatering low lying areas of the City so that people do not face any inconvenience.
The DC visited various areas including Mominabad Batamaloo, Tengpora Bye-pass, Poloview, Lal Chowk and Jahangir Chowk. He later convened a meeting of senior officers of Drainage division of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and UEED in view of forecast issued by the Metrological Department regarding rainfall in coming days.
The DC also visited Lal Ded hospital here to take stock of the damages caused to its Administrative Block which was gutted in a fire incident on Saturday.
He directed the Medical Superintendant to ensure that normal functioning of hospital goes on unhindered and patients are not put to any inconvenience.
